Available Adult Afghan Hounds
From time to time I will have adult Afghan Hounds available to approved homes. These will usually be retired dogs that I feel would benefit from being in a home where they are the center of attention, rather than in a house with a large pack such as mine. Older dogs especially benefit from a quieter home, and it is with their best interest in mind that I may list the occasional dog here.
In even rarer circumstances, I may list a dog that I have taken in as a rescue/foster situation. Why a dog is listed on this page will be made abundantly clear, along with any information I feel a potential adopter would need to know, unless there is a sensitive situation involving the previous owner that may require some details to be explained privately.

Each adopted adult will come with a recent veterinary exam, be fully vaccinated, and spayed/neutered. They will also come with a bag of their current food to get you started, or to give you a chance to slowly transition them to a different diet if you prefer.

Blueberry is being made available to a retirement home. She gets along very well with cats, but will sometimes play chase if they entice her too much. She gets along very well with dogs too, and she will provide clear boundaries for other dogs in the home so her space is respected when she needs it to be. She tends to be goofy and playful with dogs in her pack. She was born March 7th, 2020. She is located with us here in South Carolina.
Despite her age, she still acts like a puppy. Forever young at heart, she is an absolute clown. She has that signature Afghan Hound streak of independence and strong-headedness, but she is an absolute joy once she bonds with you.
She is remarkably healthy with no chronic issues to speak of. She will be released to an approved home only, and a contract will need to be signed. There is an adoption fee of $900. She will be spayed prior to leaving us.

Roux (Roo) is a lovely and energetic retired champion bitch with spectacular drive and even temperament. She loves to run and is definitely full of joy! She came to me for the purpose of finding her a forever home, from her pervious owner out of Georgia. The little bit of time that I've had here with me has been a breeze. She really is a wonderful dog. Has had no potty accidents inside. LOVES to take long naps. But her favorite thing of all is eating, so no free-feeding for this girl; portioned meals only! Best in a home without other female dogs, and she is not trustworthy with cats. She was born 8/20/2019.

She has already been spayed. There is a $100 adoption fee for this girl, just to help pay for a portion of her vet care while she has been with me.
